How Does PureCryo Fat Freezing Inch Loss Work?

At Thanet Laser Lipo, we use the latest advancement in non-invasive aesthetic technology, developed and proven by scientists at the Harvard Medical School! Our new PureCryo treatments combine the “fat freezing” therapy known as Cryogenic Lipolysis with the skin conditioning properties of Photo-Dynamic Therapy to deliver truly amazing inch loss, WITHOUT the need to exercise!

Each treatment will target an area of approximately 20cm x 15cm with the PureCryo controlled fat freezing process. PureCryo leverages a clinically proven technique known as “Cryogenic Lipolysis”.

What is Cryogenic Lipolysis?

This is the correct and full medical term to describe the Fat Freezing process we apply with our PureCryo treatments. The more commonly referred to term of “Cryolipolysis” is an acronym (abbreviated version) of this correct medical term and has been registered as a trademark by the manufacturers of the Coolsculpting technology, Zeltiq Inc. In order to avoid confusion and ensure the correct terminology is used, we will always refer to Cryolipolysis by its full and correct name, “Cryogenic Lipolysis”.

Large numbers of swollen fat cells (adipocytes) are stored underneath the skin. These pockets of fat are often difficult to target with dieting and may require substantial exercise to reduce.

PureCryo Treatments

An anti-freeze membrane is applied to protect the surface of the skin.

The PureCryo treatment head is then applied to the area, configured for the treatment and switched on.

The PureCryo treatment head selectively cools the adipose layer, causing the lipids within the cells to form ice crystals. These ice crystals permeate the cell membrane allowing ions to pass freely across the membrane, causing an ionic imbalance, thereby resulting in cellular death.

The PDT light soothes and conditions the surface of the skin during the treatment.

Only the fat cells are frozen, as their contents are more susceptible to cooling than the surrounding tissues. Therefore, there is no damage or risk to the surrounding structures.

End Result

Over the next 8-12 weeks, the adipocyte cells die and are broken down and removed by the body’s natural processes, resulting in smoother skin and a reduction of up to 40% of the fat layer.

Which Areas Of My Body Can Be Treated With PureCryo?
Essentially, anywhere where the fat layer is such that it can be “grabbed”. The treatment head must be able to create a seal and draw the fat gently into the cooling zone. The most common areas treated are :-

Stomach (Abdomen)

Hips and buttock

Upper & Lower back fat

Baby bulge

Male breasts (Gynecomastia)

Legs (inner and outer thighs, calves)

What Happens When I Come For A PureCryo Treatment?

The PureCryo implements the principles of a scientifically proven technique known as “Cryogenic Lipolysis”, or “Fat Freezing”. This is combined with the stimulating effects of PDT to also deliver toning of the skin in the treatment area.

The area is cleaned, measured and marked to ensure optimal treatment of the areas the clients wishes to target.

A protective anti-freeze membrane is placed over the treatment area.

The PureCryo treatment head is placed over the treatment area, configured and switched on.

A gentle sucking sensation, following by a cold feeling will be experienced. This is not painful, but some clients may find it mildly uncomfortable in the first few minutes.

The treatment head remains in place for 30 minutes.

Immediately following treatment, the PureCryo treatment head and protective membrane are removed, then the area is massaged for 2 minutes. This improves blood flow and lymphatic drainage, thereby maximising the efficacy of the treatments.

That’s it, you’re done for that area! Over the next 8-12 weeks your body will break down and remove the dead fat cells naturally, delivering up to a 26-40% reduction in the fat layer!

Do I Need To Exercise?
Unlike ALL other inch loss treatments, the unique “fat freezing” approach of the PureCryo treatments causes the destruction of the fat cells without the need to exercise! Of course, if you want to achieve even better results AND be assured that you will retain your amazing new appearance, small amounts of regular exercise and a healthy diet are always strongly recommended.
Is PureCryo Based On Proven Science?

The Cryogenic Lipolysis process selectively cools the cells of the adipose layer. A process known as “Popsicle Panniculitis”. This is a dermatologic condition where exposure to low temperatures can selectively damage subcutaneous fat while leaving skin intact. This process is also known as “Apoptosis”. Based on the premise that fat cells are more easily damaged by cooling than skin cells, cryogenic lipolysis was developed applying low temperatures to tissue via thermal conduction. In order to avoid frostbite, a specific temperature level and exposure is determined and transmission is ensured through the use of an anti-freeze membrane, further protecting the surface tissues.

Physicians at The Wellman Center at Massachusetts General Hospital, part of the Harvard Medical School, originated and conducted clinical trials to prove the efficacy of the process. Fatty tissue that is cooled below body temperature but above freezing undergoes localized cell death followed by a local inflammatory response, a local panniculitis, which gradually, over the course of several months, results in a reduction of the fatty tissue layer.

Through the adoption of our unique treatment protocols, clients can achieve an astonishing 26-40% reduction in the fat layer within 8-12 weeks following treatment.

Who can be treated

All skin types, colours and ages can be treated.

Unlike Laser treatments, Cryogenic Lipolysis can be applied over the site of tattoos.

Is It Safe?

Yes. The laser light used is extremely safe and the entire process is completely non-invasive. The process has undergone examination and assessment by several medical bodies. We use the most advanced technology available.

Does It Hurt?

Most people do not find the treatment painful at all. However, some clients may feel a little uncomfortable for the first few minutes of treatment due to the gentle sucking used to draw the treatment area into the treatment head and the rapid cooling of the treatment area. This will subside quickly.

Is PureCryo Similar To Lipoglaze, Coolsculpting Or 3dLipo Cryo-Lipolysis Treatments?

The PureCryo treatments leverage the principles of Cryogenic Lipolysis in much the same way as Lipoglaze, Coolsculpting, 3dLipo and other Cryogenic Lipolysis based fat freezing inch loss treatments. However, PureCryo applies advanced temperature feedback control, specially formulated anti-freeze membranes and thoroughly researched and proven treatment protocols to deliver the best fat freezing inch loss results possible, whilst also ensuring complete comfort and safety for the client.

What Is “Cryogenic Lipolysis”?

This is the correct and full medical term to describe the Fat Freezing process we apply with our PureCryo treatments. The more commonly referred to term of “Cryolipolysis” is an acronym (abbreviated version) of this correct medical term and has been registered as a trademark by the manufacturers of the Coolsculpting technology, Zeltiq Inc. In order to avoid confusion and ensure the correct terminology is used, we will always refer to Cryolipolysis by its full and correct name, “Cryogenic Lipolysis”.

What Do The Treatments Feel Like?

The vast majority of our clients have told us that the treatment is extremely relaxing.

There is a short period at the start of the treatment where the client feels the fatty tissue being drawn gently into the treatment head, then the cooling process begins. This can be a little uncomfortable, but has never been described as painful. This phase of the treatment is over extremely quickly and the client is then left to relax for the remainder of the treatment. Clients spend the treatment relaxing reading magazines, watching a film, or even sleeping, waking to feel refreshed and ready to continue their day!

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

You will achieve up to 40% reduction in the fat layer of the treated within 8-12 weeks after treatment. If you want to achieve further improvements, additional treatments can be administered to the original treatment area after 12 weeks.

The number of placements required depends upon the area(s) you want to treat and your goals. If you have further questions, please contact us to book in for a free consultation. We can then discuss your personal goals and assess the number of placements required.

Are There Any After Effects?

You will be able to relax on our comfortable bed and magazines to read. If you wish, we also provide free WiFi Internet access, so you are welcome to use your own devices to entertain yourself during treatment. Some of our clients even continue with their work, but most prefer to relax!

Where Does The Fat Go?

The PureCryo Fat Freezing Inch Loss Treatments cause apoptosis (cellular death) of the fat cells in the treated area. The body breaks down and disposes of thee fat cells in the normal manner. This is part of the bodies natural biological processes and is completely harmless.

Are Results Guaranteed?

The therapeutic principles applied in our PureCryo Cryogenic Lipolysis treatments are proven and we have a long list of successfully treated and very happy clients. However, there are a number of factors outside of our control such as lifestyle, diet, underlying medical conditions (not known or disclosed), pregnancy and physical injury, that mean we are not able to provide absolute guarantees regarding the final results that you will achieve.

Nevertheless, we always provide treatments according to our proven protocols and take all appropriate steps to ensure your treatments are conducted successfully and you are position to achieve optimal results from every treatment.

Will I Be Able To Drive After My Treatment?

Yes. The treatment is completely non-invasive and has no “down-time”. You are free to carry on with your normal daily activities immediately after treatment.

Should I Have PureCryo Or Accelerated Laser Lipo Inch Loss?

Both PureCryo and our unique Accelerated Laser Lipo Inch Loss Treatments deliver outstanding inch loss and body contouring capabilities, so how do you choose which would work best for you?

Laser Lipo is based on the use of Laser light energy to stimulate the inch loss process. This has the following benefits compared to Cryogenic Lipolysis :-

Delivers immediate inch loss results

Treats a larger area during a course

Promotes skin tightening

PureCryo (also known as “Fat Freezing”), leverages the principle of “popsicle apoptosis” to cause the death of fat cells with a single treatment. This has the following benefits compared to Laser Lipo :-

Can treat directly over tattoos without the risk of fading the tattoo

No exercise required after treatment

Once in remission for more than 2 years, Cancer is no longer a contra-indication for Cryogenic Lipolysis

Therefore, the decision is primarily determined by your personal situation, goals and preferences. Ask yourself the following questions and then look below for the best fit for you :-

1. Do you have tattoos, especially in the area you would like to have treated? 2. Are you unable or unwilling to exercise? 3. Have you suffered from cancer? If so, have you been in remission for more than 2 years? 4. Are you prepared to wait 8-12 weeks for the full inch loss results to be achieved naturally (without the need to exercise)? (NOTE :- Most clients see some visible results within 4-6 weeks)

If your answers were mostly “Yes”, our PureCryo Fat Freezing Inch Loss Treatments would be well suited to you.

If your answers were mostly “No”, our Accelerated Laser Lipo Inch Loss Treatments are more likely to meet your needs.
